Spring! Classes for 0 to 6 yrs

A new experience for children!

Classes for new-borns to 6 yr olds that link drama, music and movement to connect the brain for better learning in a friendly, nurturing environment.

Classes are divided up into the following groups: (The first  group attends with their parents/carers):

1. Under 5’s
2. Spring Stars: School students in Yr 1 and 2 (Age 5 – 6).

The programme for each class will involve the opportunity to: create, re-create and appreciate music, explore their senses, practice balance, catch-throw-kick, enrich speech and language, improve eye-tracking, enhance memory, learn brain break exercises and develop feelings of success.

A typical lesson has a new theme every week. We begin with our special SPRING opening song, followed by moving to music and dramatic play. Your child will then enjoy playing with innovative and specialised props. A gentle wind down of music and movement leads us to the familiar ‘home’ song.

This programme is tailored to the needs of each age group.

About the Teacher:

Jenny Oliver: Dip T; B.Ed.

Jenny has over thirty years experience in education and ran Spring in Hawkes Bay before taking up a leadership position in a school until the end of 2016. We are delighted to have Jenny joining The Drama Workshop in 2017 to bring Spring back to life. Many families have experienced Jenny’s magic touch with music and drama themed classes for new-borns to 6 yr olds. Jenny will be running the classes in both the Havelock North Green Room and the Napier Studio.

Cost:

Under 5’s: $120 per term inc GST.

Stars Yr 1/2:  $135 term inc GST.

You will be invoiced before the beginning of the term.

Please note we now offer a 40% discount for the second child in the under 5’s class. Bring baby and toddler!

Havelock North Class timetable

Location: The Blue Room

Bennelong Place, Havelock North

Tuesdays’ 2 pm. Under 5’s (45 mins).

For those babies and their Mums/Dads/Carers looking for a gentle, sensory approach to learning that combines colour, song and movement.

For those walking babies and early toddlers ready and set for adventure! These classes use story and song to enhance brain development and coordination.

A lovely opportunity for play through music and drama. Drawing on the wonderful imaginations of this age group, the kindy kids will love connecting with stories, songs and poems.

Tuesdays’ 3.30 pm School students in Yr 1 and 2 (Age 5 – 6) (One hour).

A stepping-stone to the Drama Workshop classes! Less formal than the classes for older children, this is a great introduction to drama and theatre with a sharing of work for parents at the end of each term.

Napier Class Timetable

Location: The Studio – upstairs at 6a Hastings St, Napier.

Thursdays’ 2.00 pm. Under 5’s (45mins)
