Yesterday was a great day in the Arts Section of the local rag…A great article about Iona’s Tessa Rao, Meagan Frankum, and Woodford’s Angela Seol and Hannah Matthews who all did wonderful things representing their schools and Hawke’s Bay in the Sheilah Winn Shakesepeare national competition. Both schools came away with awards and Tessa has also been chosen to be a part of the National Shakespeare Schools Production in the September/October holidays, which could lead to a trip to the Globe Theatre in London as part of the Young Shakespeare Company! How awesome!
Check out this great picture of ‘100’ in rehearsal and the write up on our production. With the show just two weeks away, this should help to sell some tickets! Don’t forget to buy yours before it is too late…
Speaking of promoting the show…on Saturday 8 June Cody Houlahan, Sinead Hegarty, Zoe Christall and I clubbed together to create a short live ‘movie-style’ trailer which we presented at the Open Day for the lovely refurbished St Andrew’s Hall in Hastings which we hope to use more of in the future. The trailer was so effective that we decided we should make a You-Tube version, so watch this space!
That same weekend, Ken and I were costumed actors for Hastings Heritage Day, dolled up to the nines in Victorian garb. The photo to come is good for a laugh!
